Celebrating the World Environment Day and World Oceans Day at the Ocean University of Sri Lanka

On 05th June 2025, the Ocean University of Sri Lanka celebrated the World Environment Day (05th June) and World Oceans Day (08th June), at the main auditorium of the University. The theme of this celebration program was “Combating Plastic Pollution and Fostering Sustainable Fisheries: A Path to a Healthier Marine Ecosystem”. This celebration program included a key note speech conducted by Dr. Randhika Jayasinghe, a panel discussion and a quiz competition for school children from the Colombo North Educational Division. This event was jointly organized by the Department of Coastal Resource Management and the Environmental Society of the students.
