The global shipping industry transporting the majority of the world trade and provides the lifeblood of global economy. Sri Lanka is in its unique location, one of the world’s leading maritime hubs. Apart from living resources, the maritime zones of Sri Lanka contain a variety of exploitable minerals and hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas).
In addition, Sri Lanka has unique coastal environment that provide promising oceanic recreational opportunities. Our maritime courses are well respected in the industry and well equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in the sector. The degree courses have been developed with the aim of building graduates required nationally and internationally focusing the job market. The primary aim of the Faculties is to produce Marine Engineers and Managers who coop with experience and skills in the marine and maritime sectors.
