Capacity Enhancement of the Department of Coastal & Marine Resources Management, OCUSL Project

Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the National Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Republic of Korea and Sri Lanka Ocean University on 21 March 2022, the Korean delegation visited the Ocean University of Sri Lanka on 11th July 2022. The Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, all academic members and students participated in the introductory meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wasantha Rathnayake.

The delegation headed by Professor Sun-Young Lim (International Affairs), National Korea Maritime and Ocean University will work with Ocean University to achieve the following two goals:

1. Development of a curriculum and reorganization of the Department of Coastal and Marine Resources Management

2. Capacity building of education and research to introduce a New Master’s course in Fisheries and Marine Sciences
