Reginal center, Tangalle is one of the fisheries and maritime training center of Ocean University of Sri Lanka and located at 200 meters towards Mahawela road from Tangalle town in southern province, Sri Lanka. The land represents the beauty of the coastline and the serenity of the rural and rustic life of Tangalle. It was established in 2015. The Regional center was preceded by the Fisheries Training Collage in 1973 and College Of Fisheries And Nautical Engineering in 1999.
The Diploma and Certificate programs are offered in line with NVQ frame work up to level 3 to 6 under the registration of TVC as well as CDC programs are offered in line with STCW under the registration of DGMS. All programs have being conducted under the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard. In year 2019, the Regional center won the quality award from Ministry of Skill Development as a “4 star “ training center. Further to conduct training courses, regional center, Tangalle is provided technical knowledge and skills for the local community to improve their livelihood by the mobile training and CSR programs also are being conducted to facilitate better life.
