Regional Centre, Galle is situated in  Boossa, Galle. Galle is the capital of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.  Regional Centre Galle was established in 2006. We conduct Diploma and Certificate courses in line with National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) pathway in fisheries, marine maritime and allied fields. In addition to that the centre conducts Non- NVQ courses as well as outreach short programmes as Mobile training programmes especially for the fisherfolk. We ensure the academic standards of our centre by establishing quality assurance procedures.

In addition to academic work, students are encouraged to engage in various social activities in order to develop their social responsibility. These activities become a good platform to enhance their soft skills like teamwork, leadership, communication etc. The spiritual well-being of the students is also highly concerned by the centre. Therefore, various religious events are celebrated in the centre allowing students to be harmonious without any ethnic and religious differences.

The Quality Policy of the Regional Centre- Galle mainly focuses on student satisfaction by providing quality education, training, research & development facilities in fisheries, maritime and other related Industry.

As Galle is an iconic city for tourism with several historically important landmarks, and popular beaches and coral reefs, harbours, home for several fishery harbours, and commercial city, we target existing and immerging human capital requirements through our training courses. However, we do not restrict our courses to students in the southern province. Therefore, students from other provinces of the country also study here. Our Marine engine workshop includes facilities for bench and hand fitting, as well as the use of machine tools, welding power plant and electrical maintenance. There are sections for the outboard engine, marine inboard engine, as well as general fittings section. The workshop provides facilities to cover all marine engineering workshop skills elements, including use and care of hand tools, measuring equipment, assemble and disassemble, marine auxiliary machinery and troubleshooting engines, drilling machines, off-hand grinding machines and welding equipment by adhering to safety and personal safety.

Lifesaving and Scuba Diving unit is equipped with Lifesaving & Scuba Diving Equipment which are necessary to conduct practical sessions. All swimming equipment and accessories, rescue equipment such as rescue boards and rescue tubes, first aid training equipment including spinal boards, CPR dummies, AED, Oxygen therapy use of equipment and kayak which is necessary for practical activities are available in this unit.

All Scuba diving equipment such as cylinders, BCDs, regulators, wet suits are also in this unit to ensure proper practical training for the students.

The computer laboratory aims to provide basic functional computer services for students. The computer lab provides an environment for students to improve their ICT knowledge and skills, helps web surfing for their academic activities and preparing assignments, presentations etc. Computer labs have been equipped with high-quality brands of machines. This lab has free Internet access to students and a place to perform computer-based activities and online learning.

Fully equipped lecture rooms are available with a computer, projector, whiteboard, good ventilation, and enough lighting and sufficient space with comfortable seats.

A mini library with books in different subjects related to courses including, logistics, port management, scuba diving, navigation, seamanship, fisheries, marine engineering, and other related books are available at the center.
