The Department of Oceanography at Ocean University of Sri Lanka recently hosted an engaging Drone Demonstration and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Workshop for its undergraduates. Conducted by SULECO (Pvt) Ltd on June 26, 2024, this workshop took place on the university premises.

This event offered students invaluable hands-on experience with drone operations and deepened their understanding of Global Positioning System (GPS) and GNSS technologies. As GPS and drone technology are increasingly vital across numerous sectors due to their diverse applications and benefits, it is essential for students to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in these areas.

The workshop aimed to provide students with comprehensive exposure to GNSS technology, reinforcing concepts covered in their degree programs. By integrating practical experiences with theoretical learning, the workshop sought to prepare students for the effective application of these technologies in their future professional careers.
