The University Research and Publication Committee  at the Ocean University of Sri Lanka was established in 2020 to create a supportive environment for research, promote multidisciplinary collaborations, and strengthen the university’s national and international reputation as a center for research and education. Led by a Director appointed in May 2020, the URC oversees and coordinates research activities across the university, fosters global and local partnerships, and facilitates the dissemination of knowledge.

Research plays a crucial role in generating new insights, enhancing global visibility, improving university rankings, and increasing the institution’s appeal to both the academic community and the public.
