The advancement of International Trade, combined with the increasing globalization of businesses, has played a crucial role in the expansion of the International Maritime Transport industry. About ninety percent of the goods exchanged globally are primarily moved through Maritime Transportation. As a result, the maritime sector has created a comprehensive regulatory system for maritime safety, largely influenced by lessons learned from past incidents. These regulations ensure that industry workers can operate in a safe and responsible manner while facilitating the secure transportation of goods among nations.

Program Objectives:

The Ocean University was founded with the goal of producing highly skilled, specialized maritime professionals for the nation. The BSc (Hons) in Maritime Affairs offers through the Ocean University, educate future maritime and ocean leaders with sound knowledge of Maritime Law. Upon completing the BSc in Maritime Affairs program, students will acquire practical experience through internships that encompass case studies, field excursions, industry placement, individual research, and the completion of thesis reports. The goal of the BSc (Hons) in Maritime Affairs program is to cultivate skilled individuals who can effectively contribute to the formulation of marine policies and manage the maritime industry.
