The Maritime Affairs Division of the Ocean University of Sri Lanka is dedicated to advancing knowledge, skills, and professional competencies essential for the nation’s maritime sector. As Sri Lanka continues to grow as a key maritime hub in the Indian Ocean, the division plays a vital role in supporting national development through education, training, and research in maritime governance, policy, and operational management.

Our programmes are designed to equip students with a strong understanding of maritime law, port and shipping operations, marine resource management, coastal governance, ocean policy, and international maritime conventions. With a blend of academic learning, practical exposure, and industry engagement, students gain the expertise required to meet the evolving demands of global maritime industries.

Through collaboration with government agencies, port authorities, and international maritime organizations, the Maritime Affairs Division ensures that its curriculum remains up-to-date and aligned with international standards. Our graduates are prepared for careers in port management, shipping administration, maritime regulatory bodies, logistics, coastal conservation, and ocean governance, contributing to the sustainable and strategic development of Sri Lanka’s maritime future.
