Two of the students from the Dept. of Coastal and Marine Resources Management (CRM) have been selected for the Korean Government Scholarship (GKS) program offered by the Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU), South Korea. Ms. Sathsarani Nikeshala and Ms. Prabodha Nilukshika Silva have been selected for the program based on their academic merits and performance. The program will run for three months starting from March to August 2023.

The GKS program is a part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ocean University of Sri Lanka and Korea Maritime and Ocean University. The program is hosted by KMOU for the partner Universities’ students who wish to study at KMOU for couple of students and their credits for the program will be transferred to their degree program at the CRM department. During their program the students will be trained on the basic laboratory applications related to marine sciences and certain modules based on ocean science and technology, and selected topics of marine sciences.

 

Their success is an accumulated testament of their hard work, dedication and perseverance. The University congratulates them wholeheartedly for their success and the University wish them well and savor each moment of the program to the fullest and the university expects to see you in a better place in the future.
