This Centre is located at Quiet and beautiful Navalady Village. Which is inbetween Indian Ocean and Batticaloa Lagoon and east side of Batticaloa town at 5 km distance.
This Centre is initiated in 1974 Early concept of this Centre was to develop and expand fisheries industry in Batticaloa and Ampara district. All training programme was designed for fisherman.
After 1999, concept was widen and included development of Nautical Engineering. Then Ocean University Act 2014, since 2015 Centre is promoted as University Regional Centre under the University Grand Commission.
This Centre is registered at Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission holding Centre Registration No: P200078.
